Transportation in Tulum, Mexico

The best way to get to Tulum

First, the best way to get to Tulum is to fly into the Cancun International airport. It’s about 73 miles from Cancun to Tulum. From the airport, you can grab the ADO bus or a taxi to Tulum. Buses are the least expensive option, but they’re not as direct and will take a bit longer. You’ll likely have to negotiate a bit with the taxi driver to get a decent price. On the other hand, taxi’s can take you directly to where you’re staying, and you won’t have to wait on the bus schedule.

Those are the two most popular options; however, you can also rent a car, shuttle, private transfer, etc. You can check out all the options and information from the Cancun Airport transportation website. While car rental is an option, it’s not recommended due to crime and difficult parking.
