Santorini, Greece
Joni and Brian have a spirit of adventure, and travel is a big part of their life. So a year into married life, it was time to add another adventure to their story. Santorini, Greece was the perfect option. This island is one of my favorite places in Europe! Spending the day with Joni and Brian, wandering around the island, and climbing rooftops was a great way to celebrate their anniversary. As a Greece wedding photographer, I spend most of my time with couples before they’re married, and I love the excitement of that stage of life. However, it was really cool to see how in love these two were a year later. It was obvious that they still adored each other, and I don’t think that will ever fade with time.
Greece Wedding Photographer’s Guide
I did a lot of scouting the day before the shoot to find gorgeous places for photos. So with a few spots in mind, we started the day by heading to a rooftop with a view of Santorini. We may or may not have had to cross a fence or two. Greece wedding photographers get a free pass anywhere, right…? After we got our fill of scenery, we wandered around more of Oia (pronounced eeh-uh in case you were as confused as we were about how to say it). The cobbled steps, white houses, and pink blooms made for a stunning walk.
Swimming in Ammoudi Bay
Next, we decided to take a lunch break and enjoyed some of the great Greek food. Lastly, Joni and Brian grabbed their suits, ditched their shoes, and headed to Ammoudi Bay. They were determined to jump in, despite the chilly water in the fall. Brian wanted to jump off the cliff nearby after jumping in together. Ultimately, Joni decided to support him from below. The day ended with some towel-snuggles and salty hair. Santorini has our hearts, and now these two have photos of their day to remind them of all the sweet and fun moments during their adventure. That’s one of the reasons I love being a Greece wedding photographer.
