Black Balsam Knob Elopement

Black Balsam Knob Elopement

You can’t go wrong with a Black Balsam Knob elopement. Locals and travelers are drawn to this Asheville elopement destination because it has gorgeous mountain views. Additionally, it’s easy to get to, and the hike is moderate. There are several stopping points throughout the trail with a stunning outlook. So depending on your fitness and comfort level, you can stop within 15 minutes of walking or keep going. Either way, you’ll get great views of the mountains!

Adventurous Elopement Experience

Jess and Nick are some of the coolest humans you can meet. They’ve traveled the world together, and they’re incredible artists. This sweet couple spent many nights camping and adventuring at Black Balsam Knob in their early dating days. It was really special to experience this place that held so many of their memories and create a new one together. It was cold on top of the mountain and they snuggled up until the light was perfect, and then they braved the wind for golden hour. I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to get to know them and document this day.

Black Balsam Knob

Black Balsam Knob is a hiking trail on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville, North Carolina. In the Fall, the blue ridge parkway is famous for its colorful leaves. It’s a beautiful drive, and there are plenty of hikes, such as Black Balsam Knob. The best time of year to go to Black Balsam Knob is October. It does get busy, so the best time of day to hike Black Balsam Knob is sunrise, or morning. Make sure to dress warmly, as the mountains are usually colder than the surrounding towns (such as Asheville, Weaverville, Hendersonville, Canton, etc). It’s typically windy as well. Bundle up, and bring layers so you can enjoy the views without shivering!
