Spain Engagement Photos
Amanda and Zach have known each other since they were basically kids. Their parents are have been good friends for years. So these two deciding to tie the knot is a dream come true for everyone. Zach’s family is Spanish, and they came from the United States to Spain to see family and visit their potential wedding venue. They wanted engagement photos in Alicante to commemorate this exciting time in their life. Amanda is also a photographer, and Zach is a big FRIENDS fan like me, so we had a lot to talk about! I’m trying to get my Spanish speaking skills up to Zach’s level. I definitely got some more practice while exploring Alicante.
Hiking in Alicante
Alicante is a coastal city in the southeast of Spain with easy access to the mountains. Beach and mountains are always a great combination! We stayed in Alicante, but the three of us made a trek to Serra Gelada Natural Park. It took us about forty-five minutes by car to get there. You can also take the tram, but it’s about a two hour journey. I did this when I scouted out the park the day before, and the views along the way are beautiful. This hike is in the mountains, and it gives you a view of the adjacent mountains + a town overlooking the ocean. It reminded me of my trip to Hout Bay in South Africa. This trail was easy and made a stunning natural backdrop for Alicante engagement photos!
Travel Abroad Tips:
The Google Maps app shows public transportation options and is my go-to when traveling in Europe. I usually map it out when I have WiFi, and I screenshot the directions before I leave. Running the app for an extended period of time really drains your phone battery. It’s also a good idea to travel with a portable cell phone power bank to charge your phone on the go. Here’s an example of one with good reviews on Amazon. You definitely don’t want to get stuck in a foreign country with a dead phone, especially if you don’t know the language!
